Key Responsibilities

  • Sourcing & Negotiation: Researching and evaluating potential IT vendors, negotiating prices and terms for hardware, software, and IT services to get the best value.
  • Vendor Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, assessing their qualifications, and monitoring their performance.
  • Contract Management: Developing, reviewing, and ensuring adherence to contracts to protect the company’s interests.
  • Budgeting: Estimating and establishing cost parameters and budgets for computer-related purchases and projects.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with IT supply chains, such as disruptions or compliance issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring that procured IT products and services meet the required quality standards and organizational needs.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, inventory, and supplier information.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Management, or a related field is often required.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in procurement, asset management, or supply chain management.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with IT products, services, and software, and how to procure them effectively.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly for record-keeping and analysis, and specialized procurement software.
