Pricing Analyst
Job Summary
- The Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing pricing strategies to maximise profitability and market share while ensuring competitive positioning in the beverage industry.
- The role involves in-depth data analysis, market research, competitor benchmarking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive informed pricing decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse pricing data and evaluate the impact of pricing strategies on sales, profitability, and customer behaviour.
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and consumer demand to identify opportunities for price adjustments.
- Develop dynamic pricing models that respond to changes in market conditions and input costs.
- Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and finance teams to recommend and execute optimal pricing strategies.
- Conduct margin analysis and support pricing decisions across product lines and channels (distributors, supermarkets, horeca, etc.).
- Evaluate promotional pricing effectiveness and suggest pricing tactics for new product launches.
- Generate regular pricing performance reports, dashboards, and executive presentations.
- Ensure pricing policies are aligned with the company’s strategic and financial goals.
- Recommend improvements in processes to enhance pricing efficiency and accuracy.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting exercises with relevant pricing inputs.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, revenue management, or a similar role.
- Experience in the FMCG or beverage industry is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and pricing software is an added advantage.
- Ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure. Key Competencies:
