Job role
Human Resources (HR) & Personnel Management (Core Focus)
This is the central focus of the role, driving the firm’s growth and ensuring a productive, compliant environment.
- Employee Lifecycle: Oversee the complete journey for all employees, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Performance & Development: Implement and manage performance review processes, professional development, and training programs.
- Policy & Engagement: Develop and implement comprehensive HR policies and procedures to drive employee engagement and firm growth. This includes formally addressing and resolving staff complaints (grievances and conflicts).
- Compensation & Compliance: Administer all compensation, benefits, and retirement plans, ensuring adherence to labor laws and employment regulations.
Financial, Operations & Strategic Management
The role contributes directly to the firm’s stability and future direction.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives.
- Financial Oversight: Develop and manage budgets, financial reports, and forecasts to ensure the firm’s financial stability.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Technology & Infrastructure Strategy: Manage the firm’s entire technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, security, and cloud services, focusing on strategic implementation.
Corporate Communications & Brand Liaison
The manager is key to maintaining coherence internally and externally.
- Internal Communication: Manage clear, consistent, and timely communication across all internal teams and between leadership and staff (e.g., policy updates, cultural initiatives).
- External Liaison: Serve as a key link to the PR/Marketing team to ensure accurate external messaging (website, press releases, social media).
Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s degree in business administration, law, or a related field.
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in law firm management, business administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in law firm management software, Microsoft Office, and other relevant technology applications.
- Relevant certifications, such as the Certified Law Practice Manager (CLPM) or the Certified Practice Manager (CPM), are desirable.
