Facility Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance & Operations:

  • Oversee daily maintenance of school buildings, equipment, and grounds.
  • Schedule and supervise regular inspections, repairs, and servicing of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure the school complies with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and fire safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety drills (fire, earthquake, lockdown) in coordination with school leadership.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of inspections, maintenance, and incident reports.

Staff & Contractor Supervision:

  • Manage custodial, maintenance, and security staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors and service providers.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Prepare and manage the facilities budget, including procurement of equipment, supplies, and maintenance services.
  • Monitor and control facility-related expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Infrastructure Projects:

  • Plan and oversee renovations, construction, and refurbishment projects.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors for major works.

Environmental & Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
  • Promote recycling, water conservation, and efficient use of resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities management, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Experience managing teams and budgets.

  • Proficiency with facility management software or systems (e.g., CMMS).
