Job Summary

  • We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Welder to join our dynamic team.
  • As a Structural Welder, you will play a crucial role in our operations by fabricating and welding various metal structures to meet the needs of our diverse clientele.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications to fabricate, assemble, and weld structural metal components.
  • Safely operate and maintain welding tools, equipment, and machinery such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding machines
  • Perform a variety of welding techniques, including shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, and flux-cored arc welding
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications by conducting visual inspections of welds and performing necessary repairs or modifications
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide input on fabrication methods and resolve any technical issues that may arise
  • Inspect and test welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, utilizing tools such as x-ray and ultrasonic equipment.
  • Identify and rectify any defects or structural issues in welds or metal components.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment and proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are clean, properly maintained, and in good working condition.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure efficient completion of projects.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on structural components and equipment as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor.s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Structural Welder, with a minimum of 5years in a similar role
  • Proficient in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding processes
  • In-depth knowledge of reading blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform high-quality welding in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to weld using diverse materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team
  • Understanding of safety procedures and knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Method of Application

Job Summary

  • Carries out rigging activities in line with instructions given and in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs rigging works in accordance with safety and quality requirements
  • If certified to do so, carries out the construction of scaffolding structures in accordance with the instructions given by the Supervisor.
  • Ensures rigging works are carried out according to the applicable rigging standards and best practices.
  • Verifies that the equipment and materials are in good and safe operating conditions and reports any anomalies to the Deck/Rigging Foreman.
  • Ensures coordination with the adjacent works to minimize coactivity and avoid unsafe conditions.
  • Follows the Permit to Work procedure
  • Ensure the housekeeping of the work locations
  • During offshore or marine-related activities, assists the marine department during mooring operations as required.

Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree
  • In possession of a relevant trade certificate (Rigger/Subsea)
  • Fluent both in spoken and written English.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of the various types of rigging equipment (slings, bridles, shackles, etc.) and lifting equipment (cranes, tiffins, chain blocks, bridge cranes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of various types of lifting methodologies, including the suitability of each method to specific operational needs.
  • Knowledge of risks associated with lifting and associated mitigation techniques.
  • Clear communication by radio and or using visual signals, using standardized methods.
  • Knowledge of the main risks during the operation activities and safe working, and environmental protection procedures/practices and rules to be applied.
  • Knowledge of adequate Personal Protective Equipment – purpose, use, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge and correct use of the Permit to Work system.
