Summary:
The U.S. Embassy Abuja, Nigeria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Make Ready Coordinator/Security Escort (Administrative Assistant) in the Facilities Management Section.
Duties
This position oversees the preparation of leased residential units for occupancy for all Mission agencies. Post’s short-term leased residential inventory exceeds 150 properties. Position works closely with the General Service Office sections, Facilities Maintenance sections, and the RSO Office to coordinate the preparation of housing units for personnel assigned to post. Position inspects employee Housing before employees depart post for damages to government furnished furniture, furnishing, appliances, and equipment. Ensuring that the contractors made up of 3-6 personnel’s and more performs the work according to the standards set up. Fills in as security escort as required.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
- All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a low risk/non-sensitive security clearance.
- All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.
- Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Education Requirements:
- Completion of high school is required.

Experience:

Skills And Abilities:
Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, and good computer skills. Must have ability to manage projects and plan meetings. Good customer-service skills and attention to detail is mandatory. Ability to tactfully interact in person, by email and by phone is required. The job holder must have held a Class C, general purpose, driver’s license for at least 5 years. Keyboard/typing skills is required. Basic high school math for calculating square footage is required.
