Lube Plant and Commercial Manager

Job Purpose:

The job holder will be responsible for leading the operations of our lubricant blending and packaging plant, overseeing the end-to-end production process, managing day-to-day plant activities, driving sales growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and taking full accountability for the performance of the business unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee the full spectrum of plant operations including lubricant blending, packaging, storage, and dispatch.
  • Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient and safe production processes.
  • Ensure product quality control in line with regulatory and company standards.
  • Manage raw material planning, inventory, and procurement in collaboration with the supply chain team.
  • Develop and execute business strategies to grow lubricant product sales in key markets (retail ,industrial, commercial).
  • Identify new customer segments, business partnerships, and distribution channels.
  • Support marketing and branding efforts to promote the lubricant range.
  • Translate the company’s strategic vision to improve and achieve production targets and efficient utilization of all assets.
  • Advisory responsibility and overview for product formulation to match sales and business needs.
  • Prepare and manage the plant’s operating budget and capital expenditure plans.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation for regulatory audits and industry certifications.
  • Generate half/yearly production forecast, raw material requirement and plant operational budgets.
  • Manage relationships with all internal and external stakeholders on the business, communication,development and management of all activities relating to the plant.
  • Provide leadership and support for the plant team in development and training.
  • Manage vendor identification/development and coordination.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong understanding of lubricant formulations, blending processes, quality assurance, and HSE standards.
  • Proven track record in sales, marketing, or commercial oversight in the lubricants industry.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Hands-on and proactive approach to managing plant operations.
  • Strong stakeholder management; internal teams, customers, regulators, and suppliers.
  • Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare detailed and periodic reports.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field; an MBA degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of relevant experience in lubricant blending/production and sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
