Logistics Officer / Driver
Job Summary
- The Logistics Officer/Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable movement of project personnel and assets within Kano State.
- This position will also provide essential administrative and logistical support to the project team, ensuring field activities are well-coordinated, and office supplies and inventory are well-managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive project staff and assets to all designated locations, including remote LGAs and PHC facilities in Kano State.
- Conduct daily pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and oversee routine servicing.
- Accurately maintain all vehicle documentation, including trip logbooks, mileage, and fuel consumption records.
- Provide hands-on logistical support for project field activities, including preparing, transporting, and setting up training materials and equipment.
- Perform critical official errands, such as delivering and picking up sensitive documents and materials from government offices and partners.
- Support minor local procurement processes, including obtaining quotes and delivering purchases.
- Support the Admin team with managing and tracking project inventory, supplies, and minor assets
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSCE). A valid Nigerian commercial or professional driver’s license is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with an international NGO, donor-funded project, or reputable organization.
- Proven experience driving on challenging roads, particularly within Kano State LGAs.
- Demonstrated experience in a logistics, administrative, or field support role is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Basic proficiency in written and spoken English and a high level of fluency in Hausa is essential.
