Responsibilities

Laundry processing

• Finishing: Iron, press, and fold clean laundry to meet hotel standards.
• Sorting: Separate soiled linens by color, type, and fabric to prevent damage.
• Pre-treating: Identify and treat stains on items before washing.
• Washing and drying: Load, operate, and unload washing machines and dryers according to standards and manufacturer recommendations.

Equipment and area maintenance

• Equipment operation: Safely operate all laundry equipment.
• Maintenance: Perform daily cleaning of equipment, such as dryer filters, and report any maintenance issues or unsafe conditions.
• Cleaning: Keep the laundry area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.

Inventory and requests

• Inventory management: Keep track of cleaning supplies and linens.
• Guest and staff laundry: Collect, process, and return guest laundry, as well as process employee uniforms and hotel linens.
• Lost and Found: Handle any “Lost and Found” items according to hotel policy.

Quality and safety

• Inspection: Inspect laundry for any remaining stains or damage before it is returned to use.
• Sanitation: Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines for handling chemicals and soiled and clean linens.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an SSCE / GCE / NECO qualifications with 3 – 5 years relevant work experience.
