About the role

  • As our Business Manager(Urban Water Supply) you will play a pivotal role in managing resources, operations, and service delivery.
  • The role includes strategic planning, budgeting, revenue generation, regulatory compliance, and fostering sustainable financial and customer management practices.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop financial models, cost recovery strategies, and investment plans for Lagos Water Corporation (LWC).
  • Monitor programme impacts and partner performance to ensure delivery against plans.
  • Facilitate public-private partnerships (PPPs) to expand services and finance innovation.
  • Track and document progress and innovations in utility reforms for institutional memory.
  • Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accountancy, or a related field.Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal utility business management, commercial and revenue improvements with at least three (3) years in a commercial/revenue or financial administration capacity.
  • Proven record of reducing operational costs while maintaining or improving service levels.
  • Experience in strengthening urban utility systems for sustainable service delivery.

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Existing links/network in the WASH Sector

About the role

  • As our Urban Water Utility Manager (Hydrogeology) you will take significant responsibility to support water suppliers and utilities and galvanising state-level actors (policy makers, civil society, private sector and citizens) towards playing their roles to achieve increased access to WASH services in the state to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor and take responsibility for the delivery of quality work for programs in all thematic areas; ensure that all WaterAid Nigeria programs in Lagos are grounded in WaterAid program quality standards and approaches; make informed decisions about program management to maintain quality and ensure execution of plans.
  • Ensure programme designing, planning and budgeting are in line with the Country Programme Strategy (CPS) and Guidelines of the organization and donor’s requirement.
  • Collaborate with LWC, regulators, state agencies, private operators and CSOs for effective programme delivery
  • Support strategic planning across WaterAid programmes in Lagos and in alignment with national and global WASH agenda
  • Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in water or civil engineering, Geology or Hydrogeology or related courses.A master’s degree is an added advantage (preferably in project management, environmental management, or public or private sector administration)
  • Ten years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal utility maintenance, construction and repair of water systems, sewer systems and other Public Works activities, of which five years were in a technical or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong programme/project management skills, including the ability to initiate, plan, manage and monitor programmes & projects; technical ability to develop programme plans/design log frames etc
  • Experience of managing multiple project stakeholders including community level stakeholders; donors; government officials etc
