JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

  • The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistics activities to support oil & gas operations and capital projects.
  • This includes the movement of equipment, materials, and personnel (onshore and offshore), while ensuring cost efficiency, compliance with Nigerian regulations, and adherence to the highest HSE standards.
  • The role requires strong expertise in marine and aviation logistics, customs clearance, warehousing, and contractor management within Nigeria’s oil & gas environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage end-to-end logistics operations covering import/export clearance, warehousing, material handling, and distribution.
  • Oversee marine logistics, including offshore supply vessels, port operations, and compliance with NIMASA/NPA regulations.
  • Manage aviation logistics for offshore/onshore crew changes, ensuring compliance with NCAA standards.
  • Ensure timely and compliant processing of permits, licenses, and customs documentation with
  • Nigeria Customs Service, NPA, and other authorities.
  • Supervise warehousing operations and inventory management systems to ensure proper storage and timely delivery of project materials.
  • Manage inland transportation and fleet logistics for safe and efficient movement of personnel and goods.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective logistics strategies aligned with project schedules.
  • Drive HSE compliance in all logistics activities, ensuring “Goal Zero” (no harm to people, assets, or environment).
  • Manage logistics contractors and service providers, ensuring contract compliance and performance against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian Content Development (NCDMB) requirements by engaging local vendors and developing national staff.
  • Prepare regular logistics performance reports for senior management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (CILT, APICS, ISM) are an added advantage.
  • 8–12 years’ experience in logistics/supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a managerial role in the oil & gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian import/export laws, maritime and aviation logistics regulations.
  • Proven experience in marine, aviation, and onshore/offshore logistics support.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Maximo) and logistics management software.
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Cost Efficiency: % reduction in logistics costs against budget (cost per ton/mile, vessel/aircraft utilization rates).
  • Fleet/Asset Utilization: % utilization of vessels, vehicles, and aviation assets vs idle time.
  • HSE Performance: Zero LTI (Lost Time Incidents) and compliance with company safety standards.
  • Vendor/Contractor Performance: % of contractors meeting SLA/KPI targets.
  • Inventory Accuracy: % accuracy in warehouse stock vs ERP records.
  • Crew Change Efficiency: Average turnaround time for offshore crew rotations.
  • Customer/End-User Satisfaction: Feedback score from internal departments and project teams.
  • Local Content Compliance: % of contracts awarded to Nigerian vendors and training hours provided to local staff.
