Job Summary
- The Head of Products and Technology provides strategic leadership in aligning technology and product innovation with the bank’s objectives. The role ensures a secure, efficient IT infrastructure while driving customer-centric digital banking solutions. It oversees the full product lifecycle from ideation to delivery, ensuring seamless integration with technology platforms. Working cross-functionally, the role enhances customer experience, regulatory compliance, and sustainable business growth.
Job Details
- Defining Product & Technology Strategy, Vision, and Roadmap
- Define and execute the bank’s product and technology strategy in alignment with its vision, mission and strategic goals.
- Align stakeholders around a shared vision that integrates customer-centric products with robust, secure technology platforms.
- Develop enterprise IT architecture and product roadmap that balance innovation, growth, scalability, risk management and cost efficiency.
- Customer & Market Insight
- Engage closely with customers, partners and other stakeholders to understand financial service needs, behaviors, emerging trends and opportunities in the financial services sector.
- Translate insights into innovative digital financial products that drive adoption, customer acquisition, loyalty, and revenue growth. Product & Technology Delivery
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of digital banking products, from ideation to launch, ensuring seamless integration with core banking systems and delivery channels (mobile, USSD, POS, branches, and agent networks).
- Manage and prioritize product and technology backlogs to ensure timely delivery of high-impact features and solutions.
- Ensure reliable, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure, with 99.9% uptime for core banking applications, digital channels, and customer support systems.
- Manage IT procurement, vendor relationships, and technology partnerships to deliver cost-effective and high-quality solutions Risk, Compliance & Security
- Ensure products and technology platforms comply with CBN regulations and all applicable internal policies and global standards.
- Embed fraud prevention, data privacy, and cybersecurity controls into product design, IT systems, and customer interactions.
- Work with Risk Management, Internal Control, and Compliance teams to mitigate technology and operational risks.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Business Support
- Collaborate with credit, operations, business development and finance teams to enhance product performance, operational efficiency, customer experience and revenue growth.
- Advise the Board and Executive Management on product innovation and technology investments that strengthen the bank’s competitiveness.
- Drive strategic initiatives that expand access to financial services, improve service delivery, and position the bank as a leader in digital microfinance.
- Build and manage strategic vendors and partner relationships (fintechs, telcos, agent networks, switches and solution providers) to scale products and services.

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- MBA from an accredited university
- Professional certification in Agile Product Management and IT Service Delivery (ITIL).
Professional Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in product management and technology leadership roles within a Microfinance Bank, Digital Bank, or Fintech.
- Proven track record of developing and scaling digital financial products and managing enterprise technology infrastructure
