Junior Accountant
Job Summary
- We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant who will be responsible for managing financial records, reconciling accounts, and performing regular inventory audits.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, with experience in inventory management and internal controls to ensure accuracy and accountability of stock and financial data.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Functions:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor and report on cash flow and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and statutory reporting.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
Inventory Audit & Control:
- Conduct regular and surprise inventory audits at warehouse(s), factory, and retail outlets.
- Reconcile inventory records with physical counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements (receipts, issues, adjustments).
- Evaluate stock valuation methods and ensure proper costing practices.
- Monitor inventory aging and report obsolete/slow-moving stock.
- Recommend improvements to inventory control processes and procedures.
- Work closely with the store/warehouse team to ensure system and physical alignment
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ICAN,ACA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 1–2years’ accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and inventory management systems.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, ERP systems).
- Excellent MS Excel skills.
