Job Purpose
- The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial estimates to final figures.
- The role ensures that projects are completed within budget while meeting quality standards and complying with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for projects.
- Provide accurate project cost forecasting and budgeting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies.
- Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure alignment with budget.
- Evaluate and negotiate contract terms with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Certify contractors’ interim and final payments.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, variations, and claims.
- Prepare cost and financial reports for management.
- Provide advice on cost-effective construction methods, materials, and alternatives.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and health & safety regulations.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Requirements
- Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Membership of a recognized professional body (e.g., NIQS, RICS) is an added advantage.
- Experience:
- 3 – 5 years’ post-graduate experience in cost estimation, project costing, and contract administration.
- Experience in real estate development, construction, or infrastructure projects.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., QS tools, MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
