Job Purpose

  • Responsible for preparing financial statements and reports for the Bank to determine its financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements for the Bank (daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annually)
  • Produce daily management accounts for the Bank.
  • Operate and ensure accuracy and completeness of all entries into FINSAT (i.e the financial statement software).
  • Prepare daily financial dashboard for management.
  • Prepare industry comparative reports of financial position and variance explanations.
  • Prepare segment-based deposit report.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation schedules.
  • Carry out analytical review of financial reports (including ratios for liquidity, capital adequacy, earnings and stability).
  • Undertake month end financial reporting activities including accruals, prepayment amortization and fixed assets depreciation.
  • Update and maintain fixed Asset Register.
  • Participate in the implementation of audit work plans and liaise with external auditors in providing audit requirement for the yearned audit.
  • Review and evaluate the accounting treatment of transactions by business units for purpose of advising on best practice

Requirements

  • First degree in a numerate or business-related discipline
  • Professional qualifications include but are not limited to the following: ACA, ACCA, CIBN, CFA etc are mandatory.
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience in financial management function within the Financial Services Industry with 3 years experience in a supervisory tole

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Mortgage Bank’s operations/services/products.
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing processes.
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory guidelines.
  • Knowledge of the banking industry.
