Job Purpose
- Responsible for preparing financial statements and reports for the Bank to determine its financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for the Bank (daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annually)
- Produce daily management accounts for the Bank.
- Operate and ensure accuracy and completeness of all entries into FINSAT (i.e the financial statement software).
- Prepare daily financial dashboard for management.
- Prepare industry comparative reports of financial position and variance explanations.
- Prepare segment-based deposit report.
- Prepare bank reconciliation schedules.
- Carry out analytical review of financial reports (including ratios for liquidity, capital adequacy, earnings and stability).
- Undertake month end financial reporting activities including accruals, prepayment amortization and fixed assets depreciation.
- Update and maintain fixed Asset Register.
- Participate in the implementation of audit work plans and liaise with external auditors in providing audit requirement for the yearned audit.
- Review and evaluate the accounting treatment of transactions by business units for purpose of advising on best practice
Requirements
- First degree in a numerate or business-related discipline
- Professional qualifications include but are not limited to the following: ACA, ACCA, CIBN, CFA etc are mandatory.
- Minimum of 10 years work experience in financial management function within the Financial Services Industry with 3 years experience in a supervisory tole
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Mortgage Bank’s operations/services/products.
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing processes.
- Knowledge of banking regulatory guidelines.
