Job Summary

  • The ICU Matron will oversee the operations of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care, adherence to safety protocols, and efficient coordination of nursing staff.
  • This leadership role requires advanced critical care expertise and excellent managerial skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all ICU nursing activities and personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical standards and patient safety procedures.
  • Provide hands-on clinical support in complex and critical patient cases.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and reports.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate ICU nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor equipment, supplies, and ICU environment for readiness and safety.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ICU/critical care nursing.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or matron-level role is strongly preferred.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid practising license.
  • Additional certification in Critical Care or Intensive Care Nursing is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound clinical decisions.

  • The Medical Doctor will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, providing high-quality clinical services, and working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical consultations and examinations.
  • Diagnose illnesses and recommend appropriate treatments.
  • Request and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Monitor patient progress and maintain detailed medical records.
  • Collaborate with specialists and nursing staff for coordinated care.
  • Provide patient education and preventive healthcare advice.
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols and safety standards.

Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years post-NYSC clinical experience.
  • Must possess a valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
