Job Description

• The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University in all the campuses.
• The Bursar is a Principal Officer and a member of the University Management.

Qualifications And Experience
Candidates for the post of Bursar should possess:

• A B.Sc. in Accounting with a minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) or its equivalent, or a Master’s Degree plus at least fifteen (15) years cognate experience, a considerable part of which must be in a University or Similar institution.
• In addition, the candidate should possess a recognized professional qualification like ICAN or ANAN.
• Possession of a relevant higher Degree or professional fellowship will be an added advantage.

Other Requirements:

• The candidate must have the drive with a strong passion for delivering results.
• He should also:
  • Have strong leadership and communication skills
  • Be creative, proactive and self-motivated
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have integrity and commitment
  • Must be computer literate.

Tenure

• The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years.

Remuneration

• The salary of the Bursar is CONTISS 15 with accompanying allowances that apply to Bursars in Nigerian Public Universities and other benefits approved by the Governing Council of the University.

Condition and Age Limit

• Candidates should not be below the rank of Deputy Bursar in a University or comparable Institution and must not be more than sixty (60) years on assumption of duties.
