Project Quantity Surveyor

The Project Quantity Surveyor will oversee all cost and contract management. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of at least 9 years’ experience managing cost estimation, tendering, contract administration, and project financial control of both road/infrastructure and building/structural projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments on proposed projects.
  • Manage all contractual and financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Track project costs, variations, and ensure cost control measures are adhered to.
  • Prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and claims management.
  • Negotiate contracts and subcontracts with suppliers and contractors.
  • Provide advice on procurement strategies and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to align cost control with project delivery goals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely project reporting, including cost reports and cash flow forecasts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 9 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction projects (roads, infrastructure, buildings, and structural works).
  • B.Sc./HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • Professional certification (e.g., NIQS, RICS, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC, etc.) and procurement practices.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS-related software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
