Head of Finance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and liaise with auditors.
  • Analyse financial results and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor departmental budgets.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for financial matters with the board, investors, and external partners.
  • Ensure alignment with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, legislative changes, and best practices.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related courses from a reputable institution with a professional accounting qualification (ICAN, CFA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA) is required.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role (e.g., Finance Director, CFO, or equivalent).
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
  • Strong understanding of corporate financial law and risk management practices.

    Method of Application

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Filing documents, organising records and maintaining filing systems.
    • Handling phone calls, directing calls to the appropriate personnel.
    • Scheduling appointments and maintaining visitor logs.
    • Monitoring and ordering office supplies and keeping stocks organized.
    • Ensuring shared office spaces are tidy and organized.
    • Handling incoming and outgoing emails.
    • Assist with general office operations, including running errands to support administrative and clerical functions.

    Education and Requirements

    • National Diploma, AAT or equivalent is preferred.
    • Minimum of one to two years’ experience working in the same capacity.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Key Competencies:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain accurate data entry and document preparation
    • Ability to manage files, schedule tasks and maintain records efficiently.
    • Ability to work well with other staff and departments.
