Service Description
- Promote Goal Zero Safety and Quality culture and drive compliance at the worksite.
- Enforce Shell and IOGP HSE policies and procedures at Company worksites.
- Lead and coordinate operations readiness activities for a major brownfield subsea tieback project.
- Ensure all operational requirements are met prior to handover, supporting safe, efficient, and seamless integration of new systems into existing facilities while ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Review and provide input to technical specification documents, P&IDs and other detailed engineering documents for topside system and other interfacing systems.
- Implement an existing operations readiness plan to guide the project’s transition from construction through commissioning and start-up, ensuring alignment with project milestones and HSE requirements.
- Participate in Design Reviews, Risk assessments, Technical Workshops, HAZID, HAZOPs, readiness review and any other Meetings / reviews as may be assigned in the Scope of Work. Identify and address potential operational and safety risks.
- Collaborate with project teams and asset operations teams to ensure seamless integration of new systems with minimal impact on existing operations and production.
- Lead/support the development and review of operating procedures, emergency response plans, and permit-to-work systems, preparing teams for safe and effective operations.
- Provide input into the training and competency development of operations and maintenance personnel, coordinating hands-on training and simulation exercises to enhance readiness for start-up.
- Safe, timely and efficient execution and drive progress of work scope based on project schedule.
- Oversee the verification of operational readiness deliverables, including testing plans, control room documentation, and handover documentation, to confirm all systems are ready for safe operation.
- Facilitate communication between project stakeholders to address operational requirements and expectations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
- Log and track lessons Learned.
- Review operation, and maintenance manuals and guidelines issued by contractor.
Requisite Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years work experience with at least 5 years of relevant experience in subsea operations, surveillance or intervention.
- Experience in integrated start-up of critical subsea systems within the oil and gas industry in a Deep-water environment.
- Strong background in causal reasoning and problem solving with demonstrated skills in analyzing processes, operational readiness, and subsea operations.
- Practical experience working with subsea systems testing and maintenance.
- Prior work experience in the Gulf of Guinea with familiarity with the Bonga asset will be highly advantageous.
- Ability to communicate, work, interface, interact and influence effectively within a multi- disciplinary team of professionals located globally.
- Knowledge of personal and process safety.
- Strong project management, quality assurance, risk management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Job Summary
Service type:
- Senior CSU Mechanical/Piping will be deployed by a Nigerian National. The Senior CSU Mech/Piping Engineer will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of commissioning and start-up activities for Mechanical and piping systems.
- Requires interfaces with engineering, construction, operations, and vendor teams to ensure successful commissioning and start-up.
Service Description

- Review and provide input to technical specification documents, P&IDs and other detailed engineering documents for subsea control system and other interfacing systems.
- Respond to queries and technical clarification questions from the contractor.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans for Mechanical and piping systems.
- Participate in Design Reviews, Technical Workshops, HAZID, HAZOPS and any other Meetings/reviews as may be assigned in the Scope of Work.
- Interface with existing mechanical and piping systems on the Bonga FPSO.
- Safe, timely and efficient execution and drive progress of work scope based on project schedule.
- Develop testing protocols, commissioning and testing procedures, and operations procedures to ensure operational integrity and readiness.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.
- Maintain and update commissioning documentation, punch lists, and handover packages.
- Witness site activities including Site Receipt Inspection, Site integration, Factory Acceptance Test, Extended Factory Acceptance Test and System Integration Test, and confirm compliance with the approved procedure.
- Work with Contractor to ensure quality issues are properly identified, documented, reported and timely dispositioned.
- Review and provide input to the Assembly and Testing Procedure, storage and preservation, Transportation Handling Instruction, Installation, and offshore Testing Procedure.
- Supervise testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of the subsea systems.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, i.e., Quality, HSE, project control, engineering disciplines, planning, Information & Digital Technology, Bonga asset & operations, Wells, marine, logistic, planning aviation, subsea intervention etc. to ensure adequate support for project execution.
- Log and track lessons Learned.
- Review operation, and maintenance manuals and guidelines issued by the contractor.
- The service will involve work and travel to fabrication sites, OEM facility and producing FPSO facility in the Gulf of Guinea.
Requisite Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an Oil and Gas related discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering etc.
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience with at least 5 years of relevant experience working with mechanical and piping systems within the oil and gas industry.
- Good understanding and practical application of applicable Industry standards and codes.
- Practical experience working with piping and mechanical systems in an offshore environment.
- Ability to communicate, work, interface, interact and influence effectively within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals located globally.
- Knowledge of personal and process safety.
- Demonstrable project management experience, and possibly with certifications if applicable.
- Knowledge in the use of MS Office tools or similar software. Go Completions use will be an advantage.
- Strong project management, quality assurance, risk management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Good general understanding of project procedures and requirements, construction, build and testing requirements, plant inspection, commissioning and start-up procedures.
