Job Brief

  • We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fiber Optic Engineer Intern to support our engineering team in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic networks.
  • This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the telecommunications industry while contributing to real-world infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and layout of fiber optic cable routes and network infrastructure
  • Support the installation, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cables
  • Work with GIS tools to document and update fiber paths and network diagrams
  • Perform signal loss measurements, OTDR testing, and troubleshoot network issues under supervision
  • Prepare reports and technical documentation on fiber performance and installations
  • Collaborate with engineers, field technicians, and project managers on active deployments
  • Follow industry best practices and safety standards during all field and lab work.

Qualification

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of fiber optic principles, network topologies, and signal transmission
  • Familiarity with tools such as OTDRs, power meters, and splicing machines is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with GIS or AutoCAD is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work in both office and field environments.

Job Brief

  • We are seeking a skilled Fibre Optic Engineer to install, test, maintain, and repair fibre optic networks.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fibre optic splicing, troubleshooting, and working on various installation projects and enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, splice, and test fibre optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode).
  • Perform OTDR, power meter, and light source testing.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fibre optic faults in both underground and overhead environments
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, plans, and network schematics.
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records of work completed, test results, and materials used.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other technicians on deployments and upgrades
  • Provide support during service outages or network expansions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor`s Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3 – 4 years proven experience in fibre optic installation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OTDR, fusion splicing, and fibre testing equipment.
  • Ability to read fibre network schematics and documentation.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices related to fibre installations.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
