JOB PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES

  • To effectively lead and manage all depot territory activities to achieve a high level of customer service and satisfaction at a profit whilst ensuring full compliance with company policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES

  • Drive daily engagement with STEs to review customer performance and agree on timelines for execution.
  • Manage the day-to-day sales operations of the depot/sales territories, including all assets within the depot and vans for secondary sales.
  • Identify competency gaps among STEs and implement measures to close these gaps.
  • Monitor and analyse product stock against sales forecasts to ensure zero stock-outs (OOS).
  • Oversee inventory management to guarantee zero expired or obsolete stock, ensuring strict adherence to the FIFO principle.
  • Ensure all stock returned from customers complies with the stock return policy.
  • Proactively check and raise alerts on stock issues that may render items unsellable.
  • Liaise with insurance providers to secure 100% coverage of all inventory at the depot.
  • Manage depot costs in line with company policy and budget.
  • Monitor and analyse distributor performance, supporting them to increase capacity and efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with credit exposure policies for all distributors.
  • Organize and lead quarterly distributor meetings to review health check reports and implement performance improvement plans.
  • Work closely with onsite security to safeguard Promasidor goods and assets.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report Month-to-Date (MTD) and Year-to-Date (YTD) sales performance by Depot, Category, Brand, and SKU to the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Develop, agree, and review route plans with the sales team to ensure all customers are effectively captured and serviced.
  • Track and review territory performance across STEs, Customers, Categories, Brands, and SKUs.
  • Ensure strict price compliance within the territory and provide timely reports on competitor activities.
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships by scheduling and attending meetings (in person, by phone, email, or approved digital platforms).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reconciliation of all business transactions.
  • Drive sales team motivation through implementation of incentive schemes and enforce appropriate sanctions for non-compliance.
  • Take full ownership of Route-to-Market activities and manage all related personnel, including STEs, OMSRs, and VSRs.

Job Requirements

Experience

  • Bsc in business or related field.
  • 5 – 7 years experience in sales preferably in the manufacturing industry.

Method of Application

Objectives

  • To ensure best-in-class warehouse management practices by driving efficiency in storage, product handling, and distribution, while minimising inventory losses and ensuring full compliance with established standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop, and sustain Quality Management Systems and procedures (including Good Warehouse Practices, Sanitation, Pest Control, Traceability, Storage Conditions, Internal Audits, Trainings, Risk Assessments, Housekeeping, and GMP) to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company policies.
  • Monitor and collaborate with the technical team to drive adherence to the maintenance plan, maximizing uptime and minimizing downtime of material-handling equipment.
  • Oversee all warehouse transactions (stock issuance, receipts, transfers, and returns to suppliers), ensuring system and physical records are fully reconciled and properly documented.
  • Develop and execute plans for monitoring warehouse usage levels, managing facilities, and reviewing storage and layout plans to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate activities relating to container receipts from ports and local suppliers, including offloading and storage.
  • Provide timely feedback to Planning and Shipping Departments on container receipts through accurate documentation and prompt submission of monitoring sheets.
  • Ensure daily delivery targets to production factories are achieved.
  • Develop, track, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse operations.
  • Manage inbound third-party transporter relationships to ensure efficiency and service quality.
  • Oversee logistics operations and daily activities across warehouse remote locations.
  • Drive optimization of warehouse operations by planning, orienting, and developing personnel capabilities through training and coaching.
  • Implement strategies to optimize warehouse space utilisation and overall operational efficiency.
  • Provide effective leadership, skillful direction, and conflict management to ensure smooth unit operations.
  • Develop and enforce the use of daily checklists for effective management and control of equipment and tools (e.g., forklifts).
  • Maintain strict adherence to inventory management principles such as FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expiry, First-Out).
  • Build agility and resilience into inventory storage systems to address exceptional situations (e.g., natural disasters, external disruptions, theft, or contamination).
  • Ensure full participation in audit exercises and drive timely closure of identified audit gaps.
  • Carry out assigned food safety responsibilities as directed by the Head of Department or Food Safety Team Lead.

Education & Experience

  • HND or bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Engineering and Basic Sciences
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
  • At least 7 years’ work experience in warehouse, inventory, or logistics function of a reputable organisation. (FMCG).
