Greater Impact Initiative for Child Support (GIMPACS) is a youth base and women lead non-governmental organization established in 2023 and formally incorporated in 2024. Our mission is to provide inclusive, equitable healthcare services that improve hygiene, nutrition, and overall well-being for women, children, and individuals with disabilities, ensuring a healthier future for all. Role Summary
As a Program Officer, you will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of child-focused development projects. This role requires a seasoned professional who can ensure high-quality delivery, build strong community and stakeholder relationships, and foster innovation in program development and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and supervision of assigned child support programs.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical support to project teams and community facilitators.
- Develop workplans, budgets, and project implementation timelines.
- Coordinate monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities in alignment with donor requirements.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
- Lead proposal writing and donor engagement for program expansion.
- Support capacity-building initiatives for field and program staff.
- Ensure child protection policies and ethical standards are strictly upheld in all activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in program management in the nonprofit/humanitarian sector.
- Demonstrated experience working on child protection, child rights, education, or related projects.
- Strong skills in proposal writing, report writing, budgeting, and project monitoring.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant project management tools.

Job Summary
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Assistant will manage information and reporting processes and products to ensure professional, high-quality communication in an organization\’s activities and results. He/she will play an important role in improving information management and data quality, and in strengthening knowledge sharing and learning across the organization.
He/she will also be responsible for full-cycle monitoring and evaluation of programs, developing appropriate methodologies and tools to design evaluations.
Duties and Responsibility
- Facilitate the design of “SMART” objectives, logic models, monitoring frameworks, and evaluation plans during the annual work-planning process
- Ensure the alignment of MEAL activities with program goals.
- Contribute to the development of annual work plans to identify project targets and ensure the inclusion of MEAL activities.
- Maintain existing indicator tracking tools; develop additional databases and tracking tools as needed to demonstrate the effectiveness of project interventions.
- Ensure adherence to specific monitoring and reporting requirements.
- Analyse data for accuracy, flag validation or quality issues, and contribute to system fixes.
- Generate indicator reports for tracking progress against key indicators as needed.
- Create and integrate graphics in reports and information products to help visualize data in a meaningful way.
- Edit content and presentation of all reporting and deliverables before submission to ensure superior quality and professionalism.
- Contribute to developing and reporting project reviews, assessments, surveys, and other analytic or evaluation processes and products.
- Ensure a unified approach to partner self-assessment and programmatic close-out reporting.
- Conduct field visits for data validation and to monitor the quality and completeness of data sets; coordinate data collection at project sites to monitor program development and ensure timely compilation and reporting of data; capture and document lessons learned, and champion the scaling up best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and support to project and partner staff in planning and implementing MEAL systems and activities, data-based program decision-making, and results reporting; provide training as needed.
- Support the development, design, and writing of proposals and concept notes for related programming information management and reporting.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with local partner organization, donors, private sector partners, and national authorities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirement:
- A minimum of HND, BSc or bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Information Management/Technology, Public Health, International Development, Public Policy, or a related field.
- At least two years’ experience in – program monitoring and evaluation which includes database development and management, remote monitoring, assessments, and situation analysis in emergency settings.
- Proven success in designing, implementing, and operating M&E systems from project initiation to close out.
- Experience in strategic planning and performance management, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and performance monitoring plans.
- Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, mixed method, and impact), data collection and analysis methodologies
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Essential:
- Computer skills, especially in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
- Previous track record monitoring nutrition projects across the BAY states
- Proficiency in the use of the Kobo toolbox and ODK
- Experience in planning and managing surveys, developing, and refining data collection tools, and with data quality assessments and oversight
- Proficient in using analysis tools (Excel and Power BI)
- Proven success in designing, implementing, and operating M&E systems from project initiation to close out.
- Experience in strategic planning and performance management, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and performance monitoring plans.
- Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, mixed method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Ready to travel to deep field for monitoring project activities.
- Communication skills (English, Hausa and Kanuri are an added advantage).
