Job Summary
- The Beneficiation Mechanical Foreman / Shift Engineerwill oversee and manage the mechanical aspects of the beneficiation plant, ensuring optimum performance, maintenance, and reliability of all equipment.Â
- This role will involve leading a team of mechanical engineers and technicians to ensure plant efficiency and safety, while also focusing on continuous improvement of operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical maintenance and operations of the beneficiation plant.
- Ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability.
- Implement and monitor predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance strategies.
- Oversee installation, repair, and servicing of plant equipment.
- Coordinate with other departments (production, safety, quality control) to achieve plant objectives.
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety standards and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in mechanical processes.
- Manage mechanical budgets and cost optimization.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to the maintenance team.
- Collaborate with external vendors for spare parts and service requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of HND or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with at least 5 years in beneficiation or mining operations.
- Strong knowledge of beneficiation processes and equipment like crushers, ball mills, screens, thickeners, Derrick Screen, Slurry pump, Water pump, Belt Conveyors, Vibrating Screen, HGMS, Hydro Cyclone , LIMS ,Filter Press,TLGP, Screw Classifier,Stacksizer. etc.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on improving efficiency and reducing downtime.
- Leadership experience in managing and mentoring teams.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Job Purpose
- Responsible for executing electrical instrumentation maintenance activities (planned, unplanned, and breakdown) to ensure smooth operation of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, inspect, test, maintain, repair, and calibrate instrumentation and control equipment.
- Repair or replace control devices like switches, sensors, transmitters, and motor starters.
- Modify control logics in PLC/DCS systems and handle weigh feeders and belt weighers.
- Service, calibrate, and install pneumatic, hydraulic, and motorized valves.
- Install and maintain control and measurement instruments on plant equipment.
- Use test equipment like oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and HART communicators for diagnostics and calibration.
- Conduct regular inspections and prepare reports on plant instrumentation.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance procedures.
- Ensure all instruments and automation components are in safe working condition.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- B.eng/ B.Sc or HND in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in O&M, project execution, and commissioning in steel manufacturing (beneficiation and pellet processes).
- Expertise in reading electrical drawings, P&I diagrams, and handling instruments like FT, PT, LT, solenoid valves, and control valves.
- Knowledge of automation systems (PLC, DCS, servers, switches, I/O racks).
