Safe Space Supervisor

Purpose of the Role

  • Safe Space Supervisor will oversee activities in Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS), ensuring alignment with GBV minimum standards, and coordinate community-based support for adolescent girls and women survivors of GBV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and supervise Center Facilitators in running WGSS activities.
  • Support enrolment and participation of women and girls in safe space sessions.
  • Conduct participatory activities to identify challenges and coping mechanisms.
  • Compile weekly reports on safe space activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventories of safe space equipment.
  • Work closely with CP and GBV caseworkers, and A2WG/AGUF staff.
  • Apply Do No Harm, community-centred approachin all interactions.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Technical Expertise and Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, Gender, Development Studies, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience supervising or facilitating community-based activities.
  • Knowledge of GBV prevention, safe space programming, and protection principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
  • Fluency in Hausaand Kanuriis mandatory.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partners.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
