Inventory Officer at Buymore Supermarket

Inventory Officer

Location:Opic Isheri, Ogun

Responsibilities
Inventory Checks and Control:

  • Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures
  • Maintain an updated and accurate records of inventory
  • Inspect the level of merchandise / goods supplied to identify shortages
  • Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers
  • Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
  • Ensure quantity on the supply invoices corresponds with supplied goods
  • Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory
  • Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus
  • Auction damaged goods according to the policies and procedures
  • Analyze data to anticipate future needs
  • Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure business goals are met
  • Report to upper management on stock levels, issues etc.

Cost Control/ Reduction:

  • Work in conjunction with Finance and Procurement department to ensure maximum profitability
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers without compromising on quality on goods/ merchandize
  • Notify suppliers on expiry date on goods to avoid complaints from customers
  • Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships
  • Negotiate payment terms with suppliers in favor of the management of Buymore

Finance Management:

  • Submit all invoices to Account department for processing

Other duties:

  • Ensure the retail shop is always presented and merchandised to the highest standards whilst maintaining focus on the most profitable items.
  • Stays abreast of competitors within the industry.
  • Conduct price survey from time to time to ensure our prices are within the industry standard.
  • Oversee opening and closing of the store room and the facility
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Notify Procurement of price increment
  • Work with Business Operations Manager on inventory discrepancies and loss prevention and product knowledge training for sales staff
  • Send weekly and monthly report to the management
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management.
