Instrumentation Engineer – Design & Engineering

Job Summary

  • We are currently searching for a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation Engineer – Design & Engineering who would develop, design control and instrumentation systems for our PDH Project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design instrumentation systems for processing plants including control systems, field instrumentation, and automation.
  • Prepare and review technical documents: P&IDs, instrument index, IO lists, instrument data sheets, cable schedules, loop diagrams, and hook-up drawings.
  • Selection and specification of field instruments, transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and PLC/DCS systems.
  • Perform control system architecture design and interface engineering.
  • Ensure design complies with industry standards (e.g., ISA, IEC, API, ANSI) and project specifications.
  • Support procurement by preparing RFQs, technical bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, process) and vendors during design reviews.
  • Support project documentation and change management processes.
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables and support project timelines.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8 –10 years of experience in instrumentation design, preferably in EPC, oil & gas, power or manufacturing.
  • Proficient in design tools such as SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation), AutoCAD, or EPLAN.
  • Knowledge of control systems (PLC, DCS), communication protocols
  • Familiarity with SIL, ATEX/IECEx requirements, and hazardous area classifications.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with instrumentation engineering standards.
  • Site experience in commissioning or startup is an advantage.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ISA, PMP) is a plus.
