Hospital Accountant

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Hospital Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting functions within our healthcare facility, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with healthcare accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial transactions
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable
  • Process payroll and employee benefits accounting
  • Manage inventory accounting for medical supplies and equipment
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare accounting regulations and standards
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants
  • Monitor cash flow and budget variances
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial planning
  • Maintain accurate patient billing and insurance claim records

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor\\\’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional accounting qualification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
  • Excellent knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospital or healthcare accounting
  • Knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes
  • Experience with healthcare management systems
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for healthcare facilities
