Job Summary

  • We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Head of Sales and Marketing with a laser focus on revenue generation and client acquisition. This role is not traditional marketing, it is a sales and business development leadership position responsible for unlocking immediate income streams across the organization, including event sponsorships, delegate sales, investor onboarding, foreign client leads, research partnerships, and consulting projects.
  • You will work closely with the Communications and Branding team (which will report to you), aligning messaging and outreach with revenue targets. In this high-impact role, your ability to close deals, grow our pipeline, and secure strategic partnerships will be the foundation for W2A’s expansion and success.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy & Revenue Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue across W2A’s offerings—events, consulting, deal rooms, investment facilitation, and market-entry support.
  • Personally lead high-value sales efforts including delegate acquisition, sponsorship sales, research clients, and foreign investor engagement.
  • Utilize tools such as Apollo and Zoho CRM to track leads, monitor performance, and close deals with clear, data-driven processes.
  • Align and manage the Communications and Branding team to directly support lead generation and conversion efforts.

Business Development & Deal Conversion

  • Source, nurture, and convert leads into clients, sponsors, or investors—ensuring each sales effort contributes directly to revenue goals.
  • Build partnerships with foreign clients and institutions seeking access to Nigerian or African markets.
  • Drive B2B outreach campaigns that directly support conference monetization, trade matchmaking, and consulting services.

Marketing with Sales Intent

  • Leverage digital marketing and outbound tools (Apollo, LinkedIn, email marketing) for direct response campaigns with measurable ROI.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to ensure that all branding, PR, and messaging efforts directly support the sales funnel.
  • Oversee marketing materials, campaigns, and lead-generation content with a clear focus on conversion.

Strategic Oversight & Expansion

  • Identify opportunities for growth in line with W2A’s 2–3 year expansion strategy, while meeting short-term revenue KPIs.
  • Propose and pilot new monetization models for existing W2A platforms (e.g., W2A Trade, Research Services, Deal Rooms).
  • Set up a revenue dashboard to track performance across departments and ensure real-time accountability.

Leadership & Future Team Building

  • Provide clear KPIs for all team members and align cross-department efforts with organizational income targets.
  • Mentor and manage the current sales and communications team—building a scalable sales function that can evolve with the business.
  • Identify when and how to expand the team once proven traction and income milestones are reached.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrable success in sales leadership, B2B business development, or strategic marketing in investment, consulting, or trade facilitation sectors.
  • Strong track record of closing high-value deals with international clients, sponsors, or investors.
  • Deep understanding of the African market, investment flows, and global trade trends.
  • Strong digital skills and experience with CRM, outbound marketing tools, and performance analytics.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills, with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience overseeing or collaborating closely with branding and communications teams.
  • Background in selling or leading within an event-driven, investment facilitation organization.
  • Familiarity with trade facilitation, market entry services, or investment advisory in African contexts.
