Head of Sales – West Africa

Job Summary

  • The Head of Sales – West Africa is responsible for leading regional sales strategy, revenue growth, and market expansion across West Africa. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to the regional sales team, drives enterprise and mid-market customer acquisition, and ensures strong alignment between sales, operations, and product teams.
  • This is a senior leadership role with accountability for revenue performance, market penetration, and team effectiveness within the region

Job Responsibilities

Regional Sales Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute the West Africa sales strategy in line with OnePort365’s overall commercial objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth across key trade lanes, customer segments, and industries.
  • Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and strategic accounts within the region.
  • Own regional sales targets, forecasts, and performance outcomes.

Business Development & Key Accounts

  • Lead acquisition of high-value enterprise and strategic customers.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and commercial terms to ensure profitability.
  • Ensure strong customer retention, account growth, and long-term value creation.

Sales Leadership & Team Management

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing regional sales team.
  • Set clear targets, KPIs, and performance expectations for the team.
  • Coach and mentor team.
  • Foster a performance-driven, customer-centric sales culture.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, Customer Success, Finance, and Product teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure sales commitments align with operational capabilities and margin expectations.
  • Provide market and customer insights to support product development and service innovation.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor regional market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes affecting trade and logistics.
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance dashboards.
  • Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and optimize sales execution.

Brand Representation & Market Presence

  • Represent OnePort365 at industry events, trade forums, and key stakeholder engagements.
  • Strengthen brand positioning as a leading digital freight forwarding partner in West Africa.

Experience And Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or any other related discipline.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in sales, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or regional leadership role
  • Proven success in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain businesses
  • Experience operating in West African markets is highly desirable
