Head of Operations

Role Description

  • We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations for a full-time role based in Lagos. As the Head of Operations, you will oversee and optimize the operational processes of the organization. This role involves strategic planning, ensuring efficient resource allocation, and driving operational excellence across all departments. You will work closely with team leaders to enhance productivity, monitor performance metrics, manage budgets, and implement innovative practices in line with the company’s goals. To oversee and coordinate movement of raw materials, delivery of finished products to customers. The role also ensures seamless integration of processes from production and distribution to sales and customer delivery, driving efficiency, profitability, and growth.

Operations Management

  • Works closely daily with the operations team, to ensure timeliness, efficiency and compliance with company standards.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, systems, and procedures to ensure smooth handshake between production, sales and customer delivery.
  • Manage resource allocation to optimize product delivery to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management

  • Oversee the entire supply chain process, from delivery of procured raw material to refined product delivery.
  • Ensure timely and efficient delivery of finished product.
  • Manage inventory control and warehouse operations to minimize waste and stockouts.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with sales team, haulage and other service providers.

Leadership and Coordination

  •  Lead, mentor, and evaluate cross-functional teams to enhance performance.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate effectively with finance, production, and marketing departments.

Strategic Planning and Reporting

  • Contribute to organizational strategy and operational planning.
  • Analyze operational and sales data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare periodic performance and financial reports for management review.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, Logistics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in operations, sales, or logistics management.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, supply chain systems, and sales processes.
