Group Head, Financial Planning & Reporting

Job Description:

  • Provide strategic direction for Group-wide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting processes. Drive data-informed decision-making through timely, insightful, and accurate management and financial reporting. Lead transformation in enterprise-wide planning and reporting capabilities to support short- and long-term business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes across all Verticals
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment of financial plans with strategic objectives.
  • Drive scenario planning and financial modelling for business decision support.
  • Establish Group-wide FP&A frameworks, tools, and reporting standards.

Group Performance Reporting

  • Oversee preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports to the Group Executive Committee and Board.
  • Monitor and analyse financial and operational performance metrics across the Group, providing actionable insights.
  • Enhance the quality and timeliness of internal reporting to drive a performance management culture.

Financial directorship

  • Play the role of Finance Director for Golden Transport Business.
  • Oversight monthly close.
  • Do investment analysis and ensure all controls are in place in the Business.

Strategic Insight and Decision Support

  • Partner with Vertical Finance Directors and Strategy Teams to develop business cases and investment evaluations.
  • Support Group Corporate Finance Director and the GCEO in long-range financial planning and strategic business reviews.
  • Lead finance input into business transformation and capital allocation initiatives.

Systems, Tools & Process Improvement

  • Champion automation and digitization of planning and reporting processes.
  • Improve reporting systems and dashboards to enhance real-time visibility and control.
  • Ensure integration of financial planning with ERP and other business intelligence tools.

People and Leadership

  • Provide leadership and coaching to the FP&A, Reporting, and Data Analytics teams.
  • Promote continuous capability building and best practices across BU Finance teams.
  • Drive a culture of high performance and analytical excellence.

Required Skillset:

  • Timely submission of budget and forecast cycles.
  • Accuracy of performance variance analyses.
  • Adoption of standardized FP&A frameworks across Bus.
  • Improvement in reporting efficiency and automation.
  • Deep knowledge of IFRS and other regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • First Degree /HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
  • MBA or M.Sc. in Finance/Strategy/Analytics.
  • ICAN, ACCA, or CPA certification,
  • An added advantage; CFA, CIMA.
  • Exposure to enterprise budgeting systems (e.g., Hyperion, ERP).
  • 12 – 15 years relevant experience in FP&A, reporting, or business performance analysis in a large or multinational company.
