Job description: The Finance Manager will play a key role in managing financial operations for our Gas Business, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis. This role requires a strong understanding of the upstream and midstream gas sector, including pipeline operations, storage, transportation, and gas processing.The ideal candidate will possess expertise in financial modeling, risk management, and regulatory compliance, and will work closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance and business growth.Key AccountabilitiesFinancial Planning & Analysis:o Develop, monitor, and update budgets and financial forecasts for the Gas Business.o Conduct variance analysis, identifying and explaining deviations from financial forecasts.o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial and operational performance.Reporting & Compliance:o Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.o Ensure compliance with industry regulations and accounting standards (e.g. IFRS) specific to the industry.o Manage audits, internal controls, and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.Cost Management & Optimization:o Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities to improve profitability and reduce operating costs.o Support capital investment decisions and evaluate project economics, including ROI and NPV analyses.o Effective Balance Sheet ManagementStrategic Support & Business Development:o Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic initiativeso Assist in pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and evaluate potential new business opportunities.Risk Management:o Identify financial risks within the gas business operations and propose risk mitigation strategies.o Monitor market conditions (e.g., commodity prices, regulatory changes) to assess potential impacts on financial performance.Team Leadership & Development:o Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and career development opportunities.o Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the finance team.o Provide day to day support to the project team in the implementation of assigned projectso Other assigned tasksRequirementsEducation:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related discipline, and professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of the financial drivers and regulations within the gas industry (e.g., pipelines, storage, processing).

Skills:

  • Proficient in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Expertise in ERP and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SUN System etc).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information to senior management.
  • The candidate must possess good interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • A strategic thinker who can balance long-term vision with short-term operational goals.
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of the oil and gas sector.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
