Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and reconciliations.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor variances between actual results and budgeted performance.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for cost control and revenue growth.

Tax & Regulatory Management

  • Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory requirements.

Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
  • Monitor financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support audit processes by providing documentation and explanations.

Team Support & Collaboration

  • Work closely with other finance team members to ensure efficiency.
  • Provide financial insights to support management decisions.
  • Train and mentor junior staff where required.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support

  • Provide individual and group counselling to students on personal, academic, and social issues.
  • Support students in developing coping strategies, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Identify and support students with emotional, behavioural, or learning challenges.

Academic & Career Guidance

  • Assist students in setting academic goals and developing study skills.
  • Provide guidance on subject choices, career options, and higher education opportunities.
  • Organise workshops on career awareness, life skills, and personal development.

Collaboration with Staff and Parents

  • Work with teachers to identify students needing extra support.
  • Engage parents to discuss students’ progress, behaviour, and well-being.
  • Refer students to external professionals or agencies when necessary.

Well-being & Safeguarding

  • Promote a positive school climate that supports mental health and inclusion.
  • Support initiatives on bullying prevention, peer support, and healthy relationships.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and child protection protocols are followed.

Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain confidential counselling records.
  • Prepare periodic reports on counselling activities and student well-being trends.
  • Contribute to school policies on behaviour management and student welfare.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional certification in counselling is an advantage.
  • Proven experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
