  • Iconic Open University seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated academic staff member to join our distinguished faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, contributing to scholarly research, and participating in service activities within the university and the broader community.

Responsibilities

Assisting in Teaching and Instruction:

  • Develop and deliver engaging course materials for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
  • Maintain office hours for student consultation and academic advising.

Research and Scholarship:

  • Conduct original research in your field or discipline.
  • Publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed academic journals.
  • Seek and secure research funding through grants and other sources.
  • Present research at academic conferences and seminars.

Service and Outreach:

  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committees.
  • Engage in professional development activities.
  • Contribute to community outreach programs and initiatives.
  • Mentor and support the academic and professional growth of students.

Qualifications

  • Master or PhD Degree from an accredited institution in disciplines of Arabic, English, Geography, Accounting, Economics, Business and Public Administration, Computer & Information Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Nursing, Public Health, Environmental Health, Health Info Management, Criminology & Security Studies, Peace Studies, Islamic Studies, Int’l Relations & Diplomacy, Education, Sociology, History and any other related.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and publish high-quality research.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academia.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with online and hybrid teaching formats.
  • Established network within the academic and professional community.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations.

Method of Application

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of Master’s Degree from a recognized institution and relevant technical experience.
  • Prior experience in examination supervision/proctoring in a tertiary institution.
  • Must be resident in Sokoto, Kano, Kebbi, Gusau, or Abuja.
  • Strong computer and web operating skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to duty.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring CBT exams
  • Ensuring strict adherence to examination rules and guidelines.
  • Supervising and monitoring the conduct of examinations to prevent malpractice.
  • Assisting in the distribution and collection of exam materials.
  • Submit reports on exam conduct
