Job Purpose
- To carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of all water and fluid distribution systems in the dairy farm. The plumber ensures a continuous water supply for livestock, cleaning systems, drinking stations, and supports other utilities like effluent and sprinkler systems under the guidance of the MEP Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Plumbing Work:
Install and maintain pipelines, valves, and fittings for:
- Animal drinking water lines
- Cow wash-down systems
- Milking parlor wash systems
- Effluent and wastewater lines
- Sprinkler and fogging systems for cooling
- Ensure proper slope, flow, and pressure for all pipelines.
Maintenance & Repair:
- Detect and repair leaks, clogged lines, or faulty valves.
- Replace damaged taps, pipes, joints, and nozzles as needed.
- Perform preventive checks on plumbing systems and water tanks.
Reporting & Record keeping:
- Maintain service records and report maintenance work to the MEP Supervisor.
- Alert the supervisor to recurring issues or the need for material procurement.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all HSE guidelines while handling tools and equipment.
- Ensure sanitation and prevent cross-contamination in water systems.
- Maintain proper functioning of drainage and waste lines to avoid spills.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Certificate or diploma in Plumbing, Mechanical Trades, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of plumbing experience, preferably in agricultural or industrial setups
- Ability to read plumbing diagrams and blueprints
- Skilled in using hand tools, pipe cutters, treaders, and water testing devices

Job Purpose
- The mechanical, Electrical, and Plumber Supervisor’s task is to supervise and oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and equipment essential for the operation of a modern dairy farm, including milking parlors, milk chilling units, generators, boilers, transformers, and plumbing systems.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning:
- Supervise the installation and setup of:
- Milking Parlor (e.g., 2×12 parallel systems)
- Effluent (manure separation) management systems
- TMR wagons & feeding systems
- Milk chilling systems and pipelines
- Boilers, water heaters, and sterilizers
- Transformers, generators, and electrical panel boards
- Tractors and related agricultural machinery
- Ensure all MEP work complies with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
Electrical & Mechanical Systems:
- Oversee electrical works including wiring, power supply setup, control panel connections, and backup systems.
- Supervise plumbing and water supply systems for cattle housing, washing, and waste management.
- Ensure proper grounding, breaker selection, and voltage regulation for heavy equipment.
Quality Control & Safety:
- Monitor ongoing MEP activities to ensure design, specification, and timeline compliance.
- Ensure HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards are met during all phases of installation.
- Diagnose faults and coordinate corrective actions promptly.
Team Supervision & Coordination:
- Lead local technicians, welders, electricians, and plumbers.
- Liaise with foreign installation experts and support coordination for integrated systems.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain installation logs, equipment checklists, and safety inspection records.
- Prepare maintenance plans and manuals for ongoing operation.
- Support in inventory tracking and requisition of parts/tools.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Nationality: Nigerian
- Education: BSc / HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in MEP supervision, preferably in industrial, agricultural, or dairy/meat processing sector
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical installations and electrical systems
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled dairy equipment is an advantage
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
- Team leadership and communication skills
- Computer literacy for reporting and documentation
