Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our diagnostic team in Abuja. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in clinical laboratory techniques, quality control, and modern diagnostic equipment operation. They must be committed to delivering accurate, timely, and reliable test results to support high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic laboratory tests (haematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, parasitology, and serology).
- Collect, process, and analyse biological samples in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment (e.g., automated analysers, microscopes, spectrophotometers).
- Ensure strict adherence to quality assurance and control protocols.
- Interpret and validate test results, and communicate findings to clinicians.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, logs, and reports.
- Supervise and mentor junior laboratory staff or interns as required.
- Enforce laboratory safety standards, infection control, and waste disposal procedures.
- Participate in periodic audits, proficiency testing, and accreditation processes.
- Keep updated with current laboratory best practices and emerging diagnostic technologies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Current license with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years post-NYSC experience in a reputable clinical laboratory.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety and quality management systems (ISO 15189 is an advantage).
- Proficiency in handling automated laboratory equipment and manual methods.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Familiarity with molecular diagnostics (PCR, RT-PCR, LAMP) is an added advantage.
- Supervisory experience in a multi-disciplinary lab setting.

- We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Midwife with proven clinical experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care, antenatal and postnatal services, family planning, and emergency obstetric interventions. The role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent patient communication, and adherence to best nursing and midwifery practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to mothers and newborns.
- Conduct safe deliveries and manage obstetric emergencies according to protocols.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labour and delivery.
- Counsel patients on family planning, reproductive health, and breastfeeding.
- Administer prescribed medications and perform relevant clinical procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Educate mothers and families on newborn care, nutrition, and health promotion.
- Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare staff for optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM) qualifications from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Current practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in a hospital, maternity unit, or primary healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of maternal and child health care protocols.
- Competence in handling obstetric emergencies and neonatal resuscitation.
- Excellent interpersonal, counselling, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and make quick clinical decisions.
Preferred Skills
- Training in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO).
- Experience in rural or low-resource healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with health data recording and reporting tools.
