Job Summary
- The Head of Business Development and Sales is responsible for driving customer acquisition, relationship management, product sales, and revenue growth across key market segments. The role entails building and sustaining strong relationships with retail, SME, and corporate customers, as well as strategic partners, by delivering tailored banking solutions that meet diverse financial needs.
- The position holder will lead the design and execution of business development strategies, ensure the achievement of business and revenue targets, and deepen market penetration.
- • Partner with risk and credit teams to maintain portfolio quality while driving sustainable loan growth. Product Development & Innovation
- Translate market insights and customer feedback into innovative deposit, credit, and payment products tailored to client needs.

- Design and implement business development strategies that enhance the bank’s market position and strengthen competitive advantage.
- Drive initiatives that expand market reach and reinforce the MFB’s reputation as a trusted financial partner. Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful sales, deposit, and credit portfolio performance reports to management, the Board, and shareholders to guide strategic decisionmaking. People Management & Development
- Provide strategic leadership, coaching, and oversight to the business development and sales teams.
- Drive best-in-class talent practices, ensuring effective resourcing, engagement, capability development, and succession planning.
Job Details
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Board, regulators, management, customers, partners, and the local community, to ensure alignment with the bank’s objectives and foster long-term support. Sales Leadership & Deposit Mobilization
- Lead and inspire the sales workforce to achieve and surpass targets across customer acquisition, deposit mobilization, product sales, and revenue generation.
- Cultivate a performance-driven culture within the business development and sales teams. Business Development, Market Expansion & Credit Portfolio Growth
- Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across retail, SME, and corporate segments to grow the bank’s portfolio.
- Drive credit portfolio growth through targeted customer acquisition, effective risk management, and cross-selling of credit solutions.
- Acquire and manage strategic accounts by building high-value relationships with corporate clients and partners.
- Credit Appraisal & Approval Process
- Provide strategic oversight of credit origination, appraisal, and approval processes to ensure high-quality credit decisions aligned with the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements
