Job Description
- Floating teachers, also known as itinerant or substitute teachers, are versatile educators who adapt to various classrooms and subjects as needed.
- They provide support in the absence of regular teachers, offer additional assistance, and contribute to the overall educational continuity within the school.
Responsibilities
Classroom Coverage:
- Fill in for absent teachers, ensuring that daily lesson plans are followed and educational objectives are met.
- Adapt quickly to different grade levels, subjects, and teaching styles within the school.
Subject-Specific Support:
- Provide targeted support for specific subjects or assist students who need additional help.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery.
Small Group Instruction:
- Work with small groups of students to reinforce concepts, provide enrichment, or address specific learning needs.
- Modify instructional approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Flexible Instructional Roles:
- Assume various instructional roles, including leading whole-class instruction, facilitating group activities, or providing one-on-one support.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
Classroom Management:
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
- Establish rapport with students while upholding school policies and procedures.
Collaboration with Teachers:
- Communicate with regular classroom teachers to understand specific instructional goals and expectations.
- Collaborate with teaching teams to ensure smooth transitions for students when moving between classrooms.
Professional Development:
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on educational trends and teaching methodologies.

- Assess and evaluate student progress during temporary assignments.
