Fleet Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Management & Coordination:
- Oversee the entire fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal utilisation and availability.
- Monitor vehicle movement and scheduling to ensure timely delivery and pickups.
- Assign vehicles and drivers based on delivery schedules and business priorities.
Maintenance & Repairs:
- Develop and enforce preventative maintenance schedules for all vehicles.
- Coordinate vehicle servicing and repairs with internal technicians or external vendors.
- Track maintenance history and manage downtime to reduce service disruptions.
Driver Supervision:
- Recruit, train, and supervise fleet drivers.
- Monitor driver performance, route efficiency, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure drivers follow company policies and road safety standards.
Cost & Efficiency Optimisation:
- Monitor and control fuel usage, maintenance costs, and other fleet-related expenses.
- Analyse fleet data and implement strategies for reducing operational costs and improving efficiency.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all fleet operations comply with relevant transportation laws, regulations, and standards.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for vehicles (licenses, registrations, insurance, etc.).
- Implement safety protocols and conduct regular inspections.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare periodic reports on fleet performance, fuel usage, maintenance costs, and driver conduct.
- Use telematics or fleet management systems for tracking and decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in fleet or logistics operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, transport regulations, and fleet management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and fleet management software/tools.
