Financial Controller

Job Summary

  • The Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, with a particular emphasis on project cost accounting and reporting for real estate and construction projects.
  • This role is critical for ensuring project financial success, compliance, and strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Cost Accounting: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive project cost accounting systems and processes for construction and real estate projects.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Provide detailed financial insights, budgets, and forecasts related to project costs, profitability, and cash flow.
  • Reporting: Generate accurate and timely project-specific and overall financial reports, including cost analysis, variance reports, and financial statements.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the budgeting process for individual projects and the company as a whole, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Audit & Compliance: Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure financial statements are accurate and comply with all relevant financial standards and regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor\’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Chartered Accountant(e.g., ACA, ACCA) qualification is compulsory.
  • Minimum of 10 – 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
  • Proven experience in project cost accounting, budget management, and financial reporting within a construction or real estate environment.
  • Strong understanding of project financial lifecycles, from initial budgeting to final cost reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
