Finance & Accounts Manager

Job Description

  • We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented, and versatile Finance and Accounts Manager to lead the financial operations of the group across its subsidiaries.
  • This role encompasses financial management, accounting oversight, tax compliance, procurement supervision, inventory control, and internal controls.
  • The ideal candidate will contribute to strategic growth through sound financial practices and operational efficiency

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Planning

  • Lead annual budgets, forecasts, and liquidity planning.
  • Monitor cash flow, funding strategies, and financial risk.
  • Deliver insights and performance reports to support decision-making.

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee GL, AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Maintain compliance with IFRS and internal policies.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage statutory tax filings (PAYE, VAT, CIT, etc.).
  • Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and consultants.
  • Keep up-to-date documentation for audits and filings.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare consolidated financial reports for all subsidiaries.
  • Conduct KPI tracking, variance analysis, and profitability assessments.

Procurement Oversight

  • Ensure cost-effective procurement aligned with budget plans.
  • Review vendor contracts and collaborate on strategic sourcing.

Inventory Management

  • Supervise inventory accounting and controls, especially in Agro/Fleet units.
  • Oversee periodic stock counts, valuation, and loss prevention.

Treasury & Banking Operations

  • Manage bank relationships and cash disbursement.
  • Evaluate investment options and funding strategies.

Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Strengthen internal control systems and conduct internal audits.
  • Identify financial and operational risks across departments.

Strategic Advisory

  • Support leadership with financial analysis on new ventures and investments.
  • Participate in board meetings and business planning sessions.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead finance, accounts, and procurement teams.
  • Drive process optimization and system improvements across finance functions.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • MBA / M.Sc is an added advantage.
  • ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent certification is mandatory.

Experience

  • 4 – 7 years post-qualification experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a finance leadership role.

Skills

  • Deep understanding of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, procurement, and inventory controls.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and organizational discipline.
