Finance & Accounts Manager
Job Description
- We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented, and versatile Finance and Accounts Manager to lead the financial operations of the group across its subsidiaries.
- This role encompasses financial management, accounting oversight, tax compliance, procurement supervision, inventory control, and internal controls.
- The ideal candidate will contribute to strategic growth through sound financial practices and operational efficiency
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Planning
- Lead annual budgets, forecasts, and liquidity planning.
- Monitor cash flow, funding strategies, and financial risk.
- Deliver insights and performance reports to support decision-making.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee GL, AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliation processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
- Maintain compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Manage statutory tax filings (PAYE, VAT, CIT, etc.).
- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and consultants.
- Keep up-to-date documentation for audits and filings.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare consolidated financial reports for all subsidiaries.
- Conduct KPI tracking, variance analysis, and profitability assessments.
Procurement Oversight
- Ensure cost-effective procurement aligned with budget plans.
- Review vendor contracts and collaborate on strategic sourcing.
Inventory Management
- Supervise inventory accounting and controls, especially in Agro/Fleet units.
- Oversee periodic stock counts, valuation, and loss prevention.
Treasury & Banking Operations
- Manage bank relationships and cash disbursement.
- Evaluate investment options and funding strategies.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Strengthen internal control systems and conduct internal audits.
- Identify financial and operational risks across departments.
Strategic Advisory
- Support leadership with financial analysis on new ventures and investments.
- Participate in board meetings and business planning sessions.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead finance, accounts, and procurement teams.
- Drive process optimization and system improvements across finance functions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- MBA / M.Sc is an added advantage.
- ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent certification is mandatory.
Experience
- 4 – 7 years post-qualification experience.
- Minimum 3 years in a finance leadership role.
Skills
- Deep understanding of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, procurement, and inventory controls.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and organizational discipline.
