BACKGROUND
A Community Healthcare Organization based in Ikeja, Lagos State, is seeking an experienced Field Coordinator with a strong understanding of community projects and grant implementation, as part of a team of community volunteers and healthcare officers, to drive the implementation of the project in several LGAs in the State. This is a full-time position starting ASAP to provide excellent support and office-based assistance for our programs.
ROLES AND PURPOSE
- Manage the day-to-day activities of all field workers, including field officers, community testers, and linkage officers, and their work schedules, adjusting them promptly as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring that all field activities are conducted according to the organization’s standards of operation and that data is collected accurately and efficiently in a transparent manner.
- Ensure that registers are filled accurately and regularly conduct validation visits to the LGAs for data consolidation.
- Must be vigilant about meeting project targets and proactively identify potential risks to mitigate non-compliance with targets.
- Must be conversant with the terrain of the community and be able to troubleshoot any matters arising in the field.
- Ensure that facilities and sites visited by field workers are safe and that all field personnel follow proper safety procedures, enforcing all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the accounts team on project budgets and budget performance, ensuring adequate cost controls of all field activities.
- Coordinate, review, and approve all plans for field activities under the supervision of the Project Officer.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled visits to the facilities, the field workers, and other stakeholders within the organization’s communities of assignment, including evaluation of personnel, tools, materials, and equipment.
- Plan and supervise the training of field workers, stakeholders, and clients within the communities of engagement.
- Represent the organization at meetings, presenting on the organization’s data achievements.
- Must have programmatic knowledge of tuberculosis control and of HIV/AIDS.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports on all field activities for oneself and field team members, with the ability to present the status of field activities to upper management.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with communities, partners, and donors, and at the local, state, and federal government levels, with general knowledge of local, state, and federal government healthcare practices.
- Must speak Yoruba fluently and be knowledgeable about local community cultures, leaders, customs, and practices, with a willingness to integrate and learn in new terrains.
- Serve as a liaison between field workers and other members of the project team.
- Manage logistics and supplies inventory in the field, ensuring timely stocking to avoid interruptions in field activities.
- Oversee recruiting, training, scheduling, and performance management of all field workers.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), especially in Excel, is a Must-Have.
- Experience using data collecting apps, especially Google Forms, Kobo Collect, and Google Maps, will be taken into consideration.
- Salary is competitive and negotiable, but commensurate with experience and educational background.
- At least five years of experience developing and implementing field supervision plans
