Years of Experience Required:

• Minimum of 3–5 years
• Must have previous experience buying fabrics and production materials for fashion houses or RTW brands

Our company  will NOT be your first learning ground

Salary Proposition:

• ₦70,000 – ₦100,000 monthly
• Performance-based review possible after some  months

Working Days & Hours:

• Monday – Friday
• Flexible hours (market-dependent)
• Occasional Saturdays when production demand is high

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (CORE DUTIES)

The Fabric Shopper will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, negotiating, and supplying fabrics and production materials for our UNISEX RTW and Couture production.

Fabric Sourcing & Market Operations

Source UNISEX fabrics suitable for:

• RTW production
• Couture
• Asoebi
• Structured garments
• Must be fully familiar with Lagos fabric markets, especially:
• Tejuosho Market
• Oshodi Market
• Be able to station in the market when needed and move confidently between suppliers

Fabric Knowledge (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

Applicant must already be knowledgeable in:

• Crepe
• Silk
• Asooke
• Cotton
• Linen
• Suiting fabrics
• Blending fabrics for structure vs flow

Must understand:

• Fabric behavior after washing
• Fabric suitability for:
• Shirts
• Pants
• Dresses
• Blazers
• • Jumpsuits
• • Skirts

Creative & Advisory Role (VERY IMPORTANT)

• Regularly introduce new fabrics to the production team

Suggest:

• What each fabric can be used for
• Whether it is suitable for mass RTW or limited couture

Advise on:

• Color trends
• Texture combinations
• Fabric durability for repeated production

Cost Control & Negotiation

• Negotiate best prices without compromising quality
• Prevent overpricing, substitution, or fabric downgrade
• Understand factory budget limits and work within them

Documentation & Accountability (ADDED BUT CRITICAL DUTIES)

• Provide clear purchase records for every market run:
• Fabric name
• Quantity bought
• Price per yard
• Supplier name/location
• Work with internal requisition notes
• No verbal-only transactions
• Ensure materials purchased match exactly what was approved

Quality Assurance Support

Inspect fabrics before purchase for:

• Faults
• Color bleeding
• Inconsistencies
•  Reject substandard fabrics at market level
• Prevent wastage and production delays

OTHER PREFERENCES

• Must be honest, sharp, and street-smart
• Must not inflate prices or collude with suppliers
• Must understand factory timelines
• Ability to work independently without micromanagement
• Strong communication with production team
• Must understand that errors at sourcing level affect the entire factory
