Job description

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Accountant to join our Finance team within a fast-paced telecoms and A2P SMS services environment. This role is ideal for a recent graduates, NYSC Corps members or individuals looking to build a career in telecoms accounting, carrier settlements, and revenue assurance. The successful candidate will support daily accounting operations, assist with traffic and revenue reconciliations, and help ensure accurate financial reporting across messaging and VAS services.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with recording and reconciling A2P SMS traffic revenues and costs across clients, aggregators, and mobile network operators (MNOs)
• Support carrier billing and settlement processes, including inbound and outbound invoices
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly revenue and traffic reconciliations between SMS platforms, billing systems, and accounting records
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including customer invoicing and supplier payments
• Support margin analysis by route, client, and operator
• Assist with month-end closing, accruals, and journal entries
• Maintain accurate documentation related to contracts, rate cards, and billing agreements
• Support audits and internal controls related to telecom revenue streams
• Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Collaborate with commercial, operations, and technical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
• Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting
• Perform general administrative accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or in progress)
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn and grow within the accounting field

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Internship relevant to accounting, finance, or telecoms
• Basic knowledge of financial statements
• Familiarity with A2P SMS, messaging platforms, or telecom billing systems
• Exposure to revenue assurance, cost of sales, or interconnect billing
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks)
• Understanding of multi-currency transactions and FX revaluation
