Elementary Teacher (Playgroup,Year 1 to 6)

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including pupils with varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to make learning stimulating and interactive.
  • Integrate literacy, numeracy, and 21st-century skills (critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, communication) into daily lessons.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupils’ progress through observations, classwork, and formal assessments.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to pupils and parents to support continuous improvement.

Classroom Management

  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and safe classroom environment.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies that promote self-discipline and responsibility.
  • Encourage teamwork, empathy, and respect among pupils.

Curriculum and Assessment

  • Participate in the development and review of schemes of work and instructional materials.
  • Align classroom teaching with curriculum objectives, school goals, and educational standards.
  • Prepare pupils for internal and external assessments as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding pupil progress and school events.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, workshops, and professional learning communities.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and school leadership to enhance instructional practices.

Pastoral Care and Child Development

  • Support pupils’ emotional, social, and moral development in line with the school’s values.
  • Identify and address learning or behavioural challenges early through appropriate interventions and referrals.
  • Serve as a role model, demonstrating integrity, empathy, and professionalism.

Professional Development

  • Engage in continuous learning through training, workshops, and reflection on teaching practices.
  • Stay updated with best practices in education, child psychology, and instructional technology.
  • Participate in peer observations and mentoring activities when required.
