Description
- The Director of Works and Maintenance Services is a Principal Officer of the University who is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the planning, development, coordination, and maintenance of all physical infrastructures, utilities and engineering services of the University.
- The successful candidate will provide leadership in ensuring effective maintenance culture, efficient service delivery, and sustainable infrastructural development consistent with the University’s vision of excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A good Honours Degree (not below Second Class Lower Division), preferably in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Architecture from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant post-qualification experience, five (5) of which must be at the level of Deputy Director of Works or its equivalent in a reputable institution.
- Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) or other relevant Professional Bodies, such as the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) is mandatory.
- Evidence of sound Administrative and leadership experience, Project Management competence, and strong supervisory skills.
- The candidate must be ICT-proficient and possess demonstrable ability to coordinate large-scale construction and maintenance projects, which will be an added advantage.
- A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Must not be more than fifty (50) years of age at the time of appointment
Tenure and Conditions of Service
- The appointment is for a single term of Four (4) years which may be extended for an additional term subject to satisfactory performance and clean bil of health.
- Salary and other conditions of service are attractive and comparable with these applicable in the Nigerian university system and as may be determined by the Governing Council of the University.
