Job Summary

  • The Diesel Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient planning, distribution, monitoring, and reporting of diesel usage across assigned sites to guarantee uninterrupted power supply. The role involves developing and executing diesel delivery schedules, tracking consumption trends, ensuring fuel quality and compliance, and maintaining accurate records for accountability. The Diesel Coordinator also plays a key role in driving cost efficiency, preventing diesel-related outages, and supporting the company’s goal of optimal site uptime and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all diesel supplies, movements, and site-level consumption.
  • Plan and execute monthly diesel delivery schedules, allocations, and buffer stock management.
  • Monitor daily/weekly diesel levels, analyze usage trends, and report on efficiency metrics.
  • Ensure diesel quality meets standards through regular testing and equipment checks.
  • Prevent site outages by maintaining optimal stock levels and timely supply coordination.
  • Manage upgrade and downgrades of Site diesel tanks to align with Monthly allocation
  • Drive cost efficiency in Diesel savings and avoid unnecessary Diesel interventions.
  • Inspect tanks and fuel lines periodically to prevent contamination or leakage.
  • Detect, investigate, report excess consumption or Diesel theft.
  • Manage reconciliation, documentation, and prompt processing of waybills, PFIs, JCCs and invoices.
  • Ensure full compliance with company processes, customer satisfaction, and grid optimization for connected sites.

Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of HND/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
  • Relevant professional certifications in Operations Management, Logistics, or Power Systems are an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing diesel logistics, fuel consumption tracking, and generator operations—preferably in the telecommunications or energy infrastructure sector.
  • Proven track record in diesel reconciliation, documentation (including waybills, PFIs, and JCCs), and vendor management.
  • Experience in implementing cost-saving initiatives, reducing diesel consumption per hour (CPH), and preventing fuel theft.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of generator operations, fuel systems, and site power configurations.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, data analysis, and diesel tracking tools (e.g., telemetry or remote monitoring systems).
  • Ability to interpret and maintain diesel quality standards using hydrometers and other field instruments.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance routines, including tank cleaning, leak inspection, and contamination control.

  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with suppliers, field teams, and management.
  • High level of accountability, integrity, and attention to detail.
