Construction Project Manager

Ultrahire is recruiting a highly skilled Construction Manager on behalf of a reputable real estate and development company based in Wuse II, Abuja. The ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in construction, architecture, or quantity surveying, with a proven track record of managing large-scale building projects from start to finish.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage multiple commercial/residential construction projects
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Lead teams, resolve on-site challenges, and keep projects on schedule

Other Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop and manage project timelines, resource plans, budgets, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all project phases; design, procurement, construction, and handover.

Site Supervision & Technical Oversight

  • Supervise construction sites and ensure adherence to technical specifications, architectural drawings, quality, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and resolve on-site issues promptly.

Budget & Cost Management

  • Prepare and manage project budgets and bills of quantities.
  • Oversee financial forecasting, cost control measures, and materials planning.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate consultants and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project goals.

Quality & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.

Contract Administration

  • Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline (Master’s degree or PMP/PRINCE2 certification is an added advantage).
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in construction management with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership/management role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, site development, structural engineering, and MEP coordination.
  • Proficiency in interpreting architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
  • Skilled in MS Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Membership of professional bodies such as COREN, NIA, or NIQS is an advantage.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Abuja or familiarity with the FCT construction environment is preferred.
