Construction Project Manager
Ultrahire is recruiting a highly skilled Construction Manager on behalf of a reputable real estate and development company based in Wuse II, Abuja. The ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in construction, architecture, or quantity surveying, with a proven track record of managing large-scale building projects from start to finish.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage multiple commercial/residential construction projects
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
- Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and compliance standards
- Lead teams, resolve on-site challenges, and keep projects on schedule
Other Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage project timelines, resource plans, budgets, and risk assessments.
- Ensure timely delivery of all project phases; design, procurement, construction, and handover.
Site Supervision & Technical Oversight
- Supervise construction sites and ensure adherence to technical specifications, architectural drawings, quality, and safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and resolve on-site issues promptly.
Budget & Cost Management
- Prepare and manage project budgets and bills of quantities.
- Oversee financial forecasting, cost control measures, and materials planning.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate consultants and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project goals.
Quality & Compliance
- Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Contract Administration
- Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline (Master’s degree or PMP/PRINCE2 certification is an added advantage).
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in construction management with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership/management role.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, site development, structural engineering, and MEP coordination.
- Proficiency in interpreting architectural, structural, and construction drawings.
- Skilled in MS Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Membership of professional bodies such as COREN, NIA, or NIQS is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Abuja or familiarity with the FCT construction environment is preferred.
