Chief of Staff to the CEO
Role Summary:
- The Chief of Staff to the CEO is a pivotal role within the executive office, responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the CEO, ensuring seamless execution of strategic priorities, and driving the bank’s transformation agenda. This individual will act as a strategic advisor to the CEO, provide oversight on cross-functional projects, and ensure alignment of goals across various departments. The Chief of Staff will serve as a key liaison between the CEO’s office and the broader organization, playing a central role in managing organizational change, optimizing operational effectiveness, and tracking performance.
Responsibilities
Strategic coordination & Execution
- Develop and track the CEO’s strategic agenda and ensure alignment across all workstreams.
- Coordinate major initiatives and monitor project timelines to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the CEO and key internal/external stakeholders.
Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead internal coordination between departments to ensure timely delivery of key projects.
- Interface regularly with the Management Committee and department heads to facilitate decision-making.
- Oversee the CEO’s communication with external partners, ensuring consistent and strategic messaging.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day operations within the CEO’s office, including scheduling, prioritization, and internal reporting.
- Support the preparation and presentation of key reports for internal management and the board of directors.
- Provide guidance on organizational efficiency and process optimization across the bank.
Leadership Support & Decision-Making
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO on critical issues, providing insights and recommendations.
- Assist in the development of high-priority decisions, including capital raise strategies, donor negotiations, and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Manage relationships with senior stakeholders and ensure effective communication channels.
- Support external engagement initiatives and represent the CEO at important meetings or events when needed
Compulsory Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in executive leadership, strategic management, or consulting within the financial sector.
- Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects and working with senior leadership teams.
- Experience in organizational change management, strategic planning, and governance in a complex institutional setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
